New Manager being announced Monday.
« on May 14, 2021, 11:53:05 am by silent majority »
As I've mentioned in the other thread, the club have made their choice of the new DRFC Manager and the applicant has been informed and is absolutely delighted to be joining us.

The announcement will be made officially on Monday.

Today, and this weekend, will see numerous meetings taking place, and the club wish to get those out of the way first.

The club are also delighted that their first choice has accepted the position and everybody is looking forward to starting work.

SM said "Joining the club" is that a hint as RW would be "Re-Joining".

I’m going to be honest and say I find all this a bit nonsensical now. I’m not going out of my way looking to criticise the club, but why don’t they just announce it? A unanimous decision has been made, an agreement in place and nothing further to overcome by the looks of it. The hold up isn’t related to the appointment so why not just announce it and put all this nonsense to bed.

It’s our new manager, this matters to the fans. In a footballing sense it’s as big as it gets. So, having concluded a rigorous process during which everyone has been patient, why not just tell us who it is now so we can all start looking forward. Allowing an unnecessary weekend of speculation is really not helpful to anyone.

You would imagine it’s because a contract hasn’t been signed.

Will we get any warning as to what time on Monday the announcement will be? The press will presumably have notice in advance of what time it'll be made...

I completely agree, I just don’t understand if the manager has agreed why they don’t announce it. Unless these meetings are going to have a direct influence on whether or not we actually get this manager then surely it would make sense to announce it now given we’re already delayed by over a week from the original timeline.

Perhaps I’m reading too much into it but I just can’t see why they wouldn’t announce unless it wasn’t agreed.

Maybe the new manager needs to get his back room staff in place and one of them needs to tell his current employer.
I would imagine that both sides legal team or agents will want to scrutinise any contract.

We all know- It's Blatantly going to be Wellens.

Some will love him, some will hate him. That's just football and how it works- one thing I'm sure we all agree on is the fact that we want the club to do well.

Already excited for next season- didn't think I'd be saying that after the disappointment of last.

I agree, think the DFP article suggested he wants to sort out his assistant. I guess Copps has turned his phone off for the weekend so he can get his painting finished!
