I thought I was going to be chewing my fingernails through this, but I've never seen an England side look so comfortable on the ball. An immense performance so far.

Brilliant by England so far.
Italy are a very good side but struggling to make an impression on us up to now.
Can we keep this up.

Italy will have a spell in this game soon. First half England have been incredibly well organised.

But let's be honest, it's gonna be a long 45 minutes.

Where the hell did 4 minutes added on come from.?

Only one injury of note, and their player had most of his treatment off the pitch.

We seem to be taking too many touches before passing, and Italy are looking more and more dangerous.

I would like to see Sterling get into the game more, that chance just before half time where he tried a tricky pass rather than running into the area.

But we are winning, and no matter how well Italy press in the second half there will be spaces behind..

The back three and wing backs thing is working superbly.

Just watched those fan scenes on the bbc.
Most of those pints that went up in the air must have just been bought.

I can't help but wonder when we'll start to see the nasty thuggish side of Italian football we know of old in the second half if the score remains the same.

Not unless they get a lead and want to defend it..

Need the ref to be a bit more decisive at moments too.??

Easy peasy …..the aitalians have to get something in the next 20 mins before :

A) they run out of steam
B) we start getting our second breath
C) we shuffle the pack

But they will attack, and we shall repel , and we will open them up and score one or two more….

Agreed but to be fair, they all have.

No, when the Italians are ahead they're niggly, feign injury all over the place and waste time every possible way at every turn.

I'm talking about the nasty side, with aggressive dangerous tackling and trying to provoke the opposition.

Italy are taking control.

if Southgate is a great manager, this is going to be the time to prove it.

Keep running at them, they can’t carry on with these niggly fouls without giving something away..

Not seen too much of Sterling - but he only needs one moment..
