Saka is hiding, he looks scared and is a piss poor substitution…….

Manager faux pas methinks….

b*llocks to that..

Watch the replay, before making silly flippant remarks, ya better than that ….I hope!

You mean the replay of Saka skinning Chielini and having his shirt collar almost ripped off.?

You need to go to specsavers.

That was the only thing you could come up with?

Sorry but for me it was a bad decision to let a 19 year old take a penalty in such a pressure situation.

Rashford and sancho trying to be clever on this of all nights instead of just putting their laces through it.
Gutted for Saka.

I don’t know if they volunteered but I don’t think the youngest players should have been taking the penalties..  the experienced guys have to take them..

All 3 misses came from substitutes ….good job Kane and Slab stood up and got counted….and the Keeper of course…
That second half was a lesson in how not to use the strengths you have ….attack is the best form of defence……

Two players brought on to take pens and both missed trying to be clever

probably the only tactical error Southgate made bring on penalty takers at the death, great tournament well played England throughout.

Sancho's was a good save rather than a miss, I thought. Rashford's, however, was the kind if showboating nonsense that makes you look a prize pillock when it all goes wrong.

Eh.?? You really are very strange..

Anyway, such a shame but being honest, Italy were the better side especially in that second half.

Strange penalty choices can’t be easy taking one when you’ve not touched the ball.

Annoyed we didn’t learn from Croatia in the WC went 1-0 early then played for it. Need to get the 2nd. They just took it away from us in midfield and we dropped so deep.

Still it’s so much better than any of the tournaments I’ve witnessed in my life time for England. We can hopefully learn this time from it because it was just the same as the WC

Poor tactics second half sat off them, gave them far too much ball, it was only a matter of time

Devastated. Feel sorry for saka. Massive pressure for one so young and inexperience.would have liked to have seen a more senior player ahead of him in the pecking order. Italy played well.

Thought there was only one winner when they equalised, we came back into it in ET when Grealish came on but too late by then.

And of course, the Welsh and the Scots won another England Didn't Win Trophy tonight so congratulations to them on their nations' continued tradition in their greatest sporting achievement.

I hope the bas**rd tabloids don't jump on Saka's back. But it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Italy were the better side I think.

Wheat from the chaff, the regular football supporters who expect this sort of thing, will cope.

Devasting for the media.

Don’t get this “must be hard when you’ve not kicked a ball”. They’re literally paid to kick a ball, and should be able to come on and do that. I imagine that both Rashford and Sancho put their hands up as well - it won’t be that Southgate mandated them as takers. I think Grealish has a bit to answer for for not taking one, and Southgate should soldier some blame for leaving his least experienced player as the 5th taker.

It stings now but making the final is still a decent achievement. It’s a young team so they can and should progress from here - hopefully this is just the start of the journey for these lads. We can all be really proud of what’s been achieved the last few weeks. Overall Italy deserved it tonight.

The main thing for me is we're seen as contenders, and people will make out we had an easy run again, but we are genuine contenders. And we went toe to toe with Italy, which is no mean feat.

Italy like to attack
We have pundit gushing attacking players…….

Let’s just f##kin defend and see what happens…………. Infact let’s not put any game changers on until we need to desperately change the Chuffin game cos the freakin hoss has bolted…….

One last thing now the tournament has drawn to a close -  I loved the Finland shirt, I'd really like an England shirt like it in red and white.

Feel so sorry for Saka, been one of the best players this tournament and huge future ahead of him, what a player! I hope the f*ck*ng scum Tory press don’t get on his back, or any of the other penalty missers, on the basis of the colour of their skin!

Unfortunately I feel Twitter racists will be rife!  :headbang: :headbang:  :headbang:

Forget the result, it's an England team we like to watch who've made most of us smile over the last month or so.

Yes it's another shootout loss but they stepped up and took the shots. It's not easy, practice all you like the match scenario is hard.  I remember as a kid scoring pens time and time again. Took one in a shootout and missed, completely different and that was at school level. I'd not have been able to do that.

Overall they've all contributed to a good summer of football, might have ended the wrong way but we should be proud and they'll come again.

Genoa had an away kit, white with a St George cross.

Genoa cricket and football club were the first club in Italy, set up by George Spensley, a London doctor of Yorkshire descent.

They played in England colours because their players were originally all English. Wouldn't be a bad England shirt.

Was there one with the midfield options? I always worried that against a good midfield that was our weakness.

I don’t do Twitter but from what people have said about it on here I will expect plenty of racist abuse aimed at our three lads that missed.

It bet they're from people who wouldn't have disowned the trophy if those same black players had won it.
