Well you've just named one benefit. What was on the back of the card?

It's a starting point. If you had a card first, would you want to go back to a book? Which do you think is easier to produce?

More modern and environmentally friendly too.

Well the tickets weren't scanning in the west,  season ticket or on the day ticket. However there is a knack to using hand held scanners which may or may not have been the issue ( I promise I know )

Only at rovers could you issue electronic tickets but still employ someone to scan them , pointless!

Shambolic running of the club

The queues getting into the south stand we’re longer than they ever were!

I thought cards would speed it up not slow it down.

It was crackers not opening all the turnstiles in the west stand only 2 out of 6,
Causing massive queues and a number of people missing the kick off.
I’ve no idea why anyone would’ve thought that was a good idea

There are some on here who would back the club and agree it was a good idea if everyone was issued with a stick of rhubarb to get in. :chair:

No maybe about it Nick. The club and Sodexo all all suffering with the pingdemic hence being short of bodies for Stewarding, car parking, turnstiles, bars, kiosks etc. They were having to spread what they had very thinly.

Sodexo have been suffering from a form of pingdemic for years. Get rid of them. They are useless.

Ok I will it is none of the reasons you have all put, as they were sorted months ago.  I said they were going to do them and we had a discussion over it.  The reason they did it is cos of the they want to deal with less cash in line with government guide lines as in shops most wanted you to use credit card if you remember

Sodexo do the hospital catering, if you see what shite they dish up for hospital Patients you’ll understand that they don’t give a toss about the customer

Turnstile operator's with hand held barcode readers, can’t see what benefits they bring apart from they are less bulky than the season ticket books

It saves on printing a book for everybody.

It doubles as a DNA card.

It enables print at home tickets.

It's a major step forward to going to a fully automated system.

Implemented at a relatively small cost at a time when finances were on a knife edge.

I would say that's enough of a benefit to be getting along with.

Fair enough

The print at hime tickets? Can’t such matches as cup matches just be credited to your card?

Yes of course.

But I was referring to those who just buy match tickets.

The concerns that have been raised are all things I thought, BUT it’s a small step in the right direction with more to come. The cost of putting in automatic turnstiles in is massive and we don’t have the funds at the minute.

I’m confused, those who just buy match tickets surlely don’t have a season membership card?

No they don't, but they can print a ticket at home. Which then has the benefit of being scanned.
