Its a great idea Glyn but I doubt even the Guisborough maestro can single-handedly pull us out of this one.
I think we need to be realistic about our play, sometimes you have to admit when we have been outplayed and out thought, yesterday was a good example. It was never going to be an easy game for us, if we had no injuries and all our forwards back a game like that was always going to cause us problems. Not withstanding the setup yesterday which was an abnormal one to get us through the game i'd like to see players like Close and Smith not just sitting back and admiring their work but like others have said pushing on and making the forward runs because it does look like we don't have a tendency to run on from deeper positions to make the extra body or give a wide ball played in something to aim for.(not that we produced any good balls from wide area's) its almost as if we accepted that we could not win a ball played into the box before we started. I believe Culkar needs a a season of development before he is even considered as available to lead a line, at 17 he's still a baby and needs to drop the puppy fat, build his body and move and run more, its a pity we are in our predicament and he's having to be used far more than was originally desired.I don't think we will ever see anywhere near the best of him, we will just be developing him for Watford to loan out again next year to someone else. When players like Hiwula and Taylor are back in the fold, who are they to produce balls into the box for? whoever is coming in(and it has to be someone coming in because we cant rely on just Fej all season)they need to be either a fox in the box type(a la Sharpe) or a Big strong hold up and lay off player (think C Brown but with more end product) any one nearby available who fits this tag? I can see this team thriving on having the above type's available, incorporated into the team and with out "technical" midfield raising their levels by 20% we can start to look like a functioning team. everything else will develop from that.
One point to make about Bostock, is in his Free Press interview he said Covid knocked him for six and spoiled his preseason. He also said he will get fitter.Perhaps he's still not feeling 100%?

Big few weeks with the break we get for internationals new signings or not team need to start executing a game plan to give us a chance of winning a game.

But i find him a very frustrating player. He has loads of ability but does not get hold of a game by the scruff of the neck like Whiteman did. Yes i know it is unfair to make comparisons but we need him to make some runs forward just occasionally and not be too predictable. He looks good at times because he plays so deep and there is no pressure on him. That is fine but he is not always going to be able to spray 30 yard passes around. He needs to influence the game more as he has the ability do do that.If he was not fit Saturday fair dues to him but he needs to get fit. We cannot afford players playing at 75/80%
