Wasn’t Kitch and JR on the pitch with a presentation
Never been as hot watching a game before or since, god knows what it was like playing in it

Bradford City away is a home game for me.
Bradford City at home will see a car or two of us attending as well.
A couple of new grounds to think about as well.
. That's a bonus for us Dave. Regards Ray

It sure is Ray. Hopefully a nice warm day as well. It could well be a full house as well. Should be 20,000 there I reckon.

Boxing Day away yet again, and to rub it in they send us to Birkenhead, the biggest shithole in the Northern Hemisphere!

What's it like to drive to Bradford City? I've been on the train from Donny before but will be coming the opposite direction this time.

Bit of a shame Barrow is a Tuesday as I was looking forward to ticking that ground off. At least my nearest trip, Hartlepool, is around my birthday.

Just noticed something - is there a reason why our midweek home games are now 8pm kick off ?

Not great to start a campaign with a local Derby. Would rather the players ease their way into a season rather than going he'll for leather in what might be very warm weather. Given our injury woes of late, this is not a good start

It is what it is though and will be a good marker for the season.

I would imagine Bradford will be red hot favourites to win the league title. Massive club, big stadium, huge support base, and big spending.

With all that expectation, and a massive crowd of between 15 and 20 thousand, the pressure on the Bradford players for that first game will be enormous.

That could work in our favour.

I suspect a few teams will be thinking the same looking at playing us - I think the predictions of us being 7-9th come the end of the season are wrong though, we will be top 4 :rtid:

It shouldn't be too bad Alias. I would aim to get there early if you want to park near to the ground though as it gets very busy.
Don't park in either of the Forster Square retail parks as it is cctv and number plate recognition if you go over time which I think is two hours.
There is street parking within a five or ten minute walk. There is the Broadway shopping centre car park which is reasonable and again about a ten or fifteen minute walk from the ground. I'll ask my City mates where they park these days.

Just being realistic. It would have been difficult to imagine a  harder start to the season.

Going on the bookies' odds, in our first 7 games we play the sides ranked 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 13 and 15. Average rank: 6.32

The very hardest average rank you could get would be if you played the top 1-7 ranked teams in your first 7 games - that wold be an average of 4.00.

The very easiest average rank you could get would be if you played the bottom 18-24 ranked teams in your first 7 games - that wold be an average of 21.00.

Put it this way. If we pick up 8-9 points from that first 7 games and are lower mid-table, that wouldn't be a cause to despair. I'd snap your hand off if someone offered us 11 points from those 7 games.

Cheers Idler! We have committed to going to the game now and will be driving it so would be keen to hear those recommendations.

Pressure relived a bit then for Bradford getting us at home. As in their fans won't see this as an easy start and demand an easy win.
