DFP saying Tomlin is showing some class touches.

He’s had about 4 touches. You can see some class there, but we need to get him involved. Or maybe he needs to get himself involved. It’s a tricky one. Can we build our team around him? As that’s what we’d probably have to do to compensate for his lack of movement.

Is he a No 10 type player or wide player?

I wonder 8f he's suited to the role JC26 carved out for himself.

37' Another quick break from Rovers, as Molyneux gallops free and finds Miller in the box, but the forward's shot is blocked.

Is Maxwell #3? Yes doing very well I’d take him on that half’s performance.

Tomlin is a bit of a unit and looks decent but yes would like to see a bit more.

Maxwell was number 3 vs Spennymoor and played very well, good to hear he is doing it against better opposition.

Maxwell at 20 year old has the looking of a good left back he is better than we had last season. So unless they have some else they know is better we should sign him. Now for the negative bit can we afford his wages.

Playing in the 10. Can’t help but think he affects the shape of the team a bit. If we want to be a pressing team (and Miller and Molyneux have pressed quite well) then can we carry Tomlin? I wouldn’t rule it out by the way, I’m just not sure.

Well that's something we were distinctly lacking last season. Someone with vision who can put their foot on the ball in the final third. Buy a bit of time looking after the ball and being creative.

Sounds like we have good willing runners to link up with.

Reading the FreePress reports we have looked relatively good against very good opposition. I expect them to put some pressure on now in the 2nd.
Tomlin sounds like he is running our team, and keeping the game going.

I will be honest I was expecting a brutal pounding today by them- but we have had just as many if not better chances?

If Maxwell looks decent and we get the new centre back lad in, that is going to be good business for our defence.

Don’t know about Tomlin but it’s Dad’s Army with him, Rowe and Clayton all in the midfield.

But you've got some legs with Biggins.

Biggins is an unknown quantity for us and there is only one of him. Close we can’t rely on in terms of getting through 30+ games a season and Ravenhill is probably still not going to be ready this season to start regularly.

Seems to play as a striker out of possession and a #10 in possession for us. 4-4-2 OOP, 2-3-2-3 IP.

David Hartrick
64' - Corner for Town

Now in a 4-2-3-1 the youngsters are already imposing themselves, Diarra is the nominal striker, Bright closest to him as the ten.

David Hartrick
61 - Subs

So, for Town, all coming on:

Bellagami, Midgeley, Maroodza, Adewoju, Krasniqi, Eccleston, Bright, Ayina, and Diarra on, only Jackson now remains from the starting line up with halftime sub Danny Grant making up the eleven.

If he's muscled his way into taking pennos, maybe that's a sign he's signing.

Miller took the last one at Spennymoor.

68 - GOAL for Doncaster

Ayina brings down one trialist in the area after losing the ball, another trialist takes the penalty and scores. Good day for the trialist family ( NOT GUILTY !!)  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: as Doncaster go 1-0 up completely against the run of play.

Really? DFP say Miller won pen.

More great pressing from George Miller, who has led from the front all afternoon with his running.

He places a young defender under pressure who brings him down inside the area. Definite penalty and Lee Tomlin tucks it away.
