Does the bar at the ground sell Real Ale nowadays? Not been in since before the pandemic.

Think they sell Bud, Stella, John Smiths and a cider...

To be honest it needs an overhaul on the taps. It's pretty rubbish.

Would it change when the catering company goes?

The beer is dreadful but it’s always packed in there, so no real financial incentive for them to change.

That's a fair point CBCB. Just a shame that the club doesn't start to take pride in anything they do when it comes to food / drink etc and build a reputation for quality locally sourced food and drink. I guess if people want to eat shit and drink piss then that's their lookout. The club still make the money as you say.

They both have bars attached which are also music venues. Gorilla have the Rockingham tap in Swinton and also a pub in Knaresborough. They do sell bottles as well. I’ve seen Imperial beers in local Wetherspoons

The Belle Vue Bar is really good to have. When I frequent the place, I'm not going for a real ale exhibition, I just want the basics to help the prematch build up with my mates. The ambiance is generally very good, aided by the food van and stage outside with a bit of music etc.

Ok, it gets busy at peak times but what do you expect for somewhere that's used by us once a fortnight.

Very often the away fans compliment us on it compared to what they have at their own grounds and I've come across alot worse and not many better!

So before you grind the place into the ground putting people off, not everyone shares the same dim views about the facilities on offer.

Do they show the early Premier League kick off in there? Would be good way of getting people in early doors.

Yes. There's plenty of folk who use it and enjoy it. Post match too with the results coming in.

Plus Hilltop Brewery in Conisbrough.

I ended up in the Belle Vue Bar at a recent home game after a mix up with taxi times from town - I thought it was a thoroughly depressing experience, from the selection beers to the decor and atmosphere. I certainly won't be hurrying back.

If you were a local brewer who had put blood, sweat and tears into creating a quality beer, would you entrust it to the team at the Eco-Power to store and serve it correctly?

Agree DW it was always busy in there on a match day I guess the location worked against them on the other days lol

Surely a pop up bar could work

Going back to the BVB it’s decent and although the queue looks long it usually goes down pretty quick - used to be decent value with the DNA card but that’s no more

How long does real ale last when  opened? I belive it has a relatively short life, with games in the main once a fortnight is it feasable to have real ales on tap?

I would imagine you would find a Doncaster Brewery  beer to suit you DVR

Extensive range all with local connections / connotations . I am sure they did something with Rovers connection a few years back ...

It's a cracking little place 100 yards short of Staff of Life if travelling from Frenchgate and we went there to celebrate something (Viva Rovers & TRB will kill me) but I can't remember what but what a cracking night upstairs

For me the star of the show is the Beer. Cheswold (Bitter) for me lol

It probably did work against them but they did I think have Cask Corner as a Brewery Tap. At least the bloke I thought was Toad's owner was always in the CK

However Muttley was right ... Why would local Brewery people make exceptionally good beers and let BVB bar staff (possibly) store it serve it & present it in a way that wouldn't do it or them any favours

Saying that Chantry were happy with Steelos being there so maybe a secret Beer could work

Below is my response to the above from DonnyBaz. Sorry, ballsed up the quote thing and don't know how to rectify it.

I maybe would like to make use of the BV bar but can't because it serves squirrels piss. I would like to use the catering inside the ground but i haven't been able to for some considerable time because the food on offer isn't fit for human consumption.

I'm a Rovers fan but am being denied equal enjoyment of the food and drink facilities because i have standards and they are an affront.

So yes, i have a dim view of the facilities and rightly so because i can't participate in some ritualistic things that many fans take for granted due to the above and until the club address these woeful issues, i'll grind them into the ground until i am able to eat, drink and be merry at the Eco.

Yep. No worries Baz. I just wish that football would move on from the 1980's. In culinary and refreshment terms anyway.  ;)

Real world problems, eh.?

Yep. A pint of squirrels piss and some inedible artery clogging genetically modified frankenstein meat in a bap / roll / pastry for about a tenner.

A tenner that many people work hard for and don't have spare to waste on that muck.
