Hidden Players
« on November 09, 2022, 05:06:30 pm by Dutch Uncle »
To provide a distraction from the gloom I have used the fact that many Rovers players, especially recently, seem to have a surname that is also a christian name to ‘hide’ one player between two others, i.e the missing player shares his christian name with the first player’s surname, and also shares his surname with the second player’s christian name. I am matching sounds rather than exact spellings. So one example might be:

Arthur ??????   ??????  Jeffrey

The answer is Adie Mike. We had a player in the 1950’s called Arthur Adey and of course Mike Jeffrey was much more recent. I use homophones ‘Adey’ and ‘Adie’ as the same name. I used this example because of Arthur Adey being such an obscure player, and I will only use one other player from that long ago, and he was a long serving and regular international player while at Rovers.

So who are the missing players below?

1) Cameron JOHN (JON) TAYLOR  Richards

2) Aaron LEWIS GUY Ipoua

3) Adam COLLIN (COLIN) RUSSELL Wilcox

4) Alan MORGAN JAMES  Coppinger

5) Fabian ROBERT LEE Warren

6) Cameron STEWART (STUART) ELLIOTT  Ward

7) Cameron JOHN RYAN Mason

8) Marvin BRYAN DEANE (DEAN) Shiels

9) Len GRAHAM (GRAEME) LEE Warren

I will fill them in as they are found

Most can be worked out even if one of the players isn't familiar
Could also have used Jack Lewis

Cameron John Taylor Richards

Len Graham Lee Warren

Len Graham was of course the other 1950's player
I reckoned he was better known than Tommy Graham of the 1980s

Much too easy for everyone - it needed a deliberate mistake (not ) to defeat you  :clapping:

Was Mike Bryan one of the twin tennis doubles players, is that who I was mixing his name up with? (desperately looking for excuses to cover senior a moment )
