Blimey, did we win last night?I heard someone after about half an hour saying "they've got no confidence", is it any wonder? What a mood around the place, 90% of the crowd awaiting a mis-placed pass, groan, a mistake at the back, groan, a loose ball ending up with the opposition, groan, Jonny to kick it into touch (he only did it once to my reckoning, trying to play a first time ball out to Maxwell), groan..... not exactly the twelfth man are we? Fair play to the few in the south stand that tried, despite others trying to sell the club.Despite Tranmere having most of the ball in the first half & us huffing & puffing a bit we were at least huffing & puffing. Tommy was a bit of steel we've badly missed, even if I'm not sure he should be playing cb, Lakin added some mobility & some nice touches in midfield, Hurst looks more of a threat in the middle. We didn't warm the keepers hands but we had a few shots at least, we've seen much worse this season. Then I made the mistake of checking lucky pint at ht & realised that oh no, it was absolute dire & the end of the world, it made me wonder if Saturday was as bad as I read, missed that one.Anyway, two goals, three points, a clean sheet ! (in no small part thanks to hartlepool's reserve keeper, well deserved after a few great saves, particularly the one he tipped onto the bar near the end). But of course they gifted it to us. Close has a go, we're always saying we don't have a go enough, deflection & it's in the net. Bloke sat nearby, slumped in his chair wallowing in it all game never flinched, arms still folded, how dare we have the cheek to have a bit of good fortune? Then Lakin puts a great foot in high up the field, the red shirts flood forward, good ball out to Hurst who finishes confidently, we even see the game out.But we're poor, & Tranmere are poor but should have beat us. They're a league two side, we're a league two side & guess what? We're in league two. We're not gonna make the play offs playing like that. We'll we've been playing like that, or worse all season & we're two points away so it won't take much. You can call it a poor league or whatever, at the end of the season we'll finish exactly where we deserve to but come on let's at least want to finish as high as poss, it feels like some fans would rather have a good moan. I've stopped coming on here in the immediate aftermath of a defeat, don't take the forum away from me after a win for Christ's sake, we won !!!Yes the last two years have been tough but has it come to the point where we can't even enjoy a 2-0 win?I even enjoyed a pie &:a brew before the game, got served quick & it was all served hot. I paid by card mind, risky I know, what will the government do with that nugget of information they have on me now? Don't tell em how many sugars I had, shhhhh...Anyway, I'm gonna enjoy the points & celebrate my 50th with a trip to the gym & maybe a pint at dinner time. Have a great day everyone, up the Rovers !
