What’s the situation here with Mitchell’s contract, is he holding out for more money or a better offer? Brass neck on him if so.

Certainly shouldn’t be an offer unless it’s on a 2nd choice salary

Think much has been made out of a fairly non-committal statement by DS, who said Mitchell was one we were "looking at" or something similar if I remember right. The DFP headline writers then ran with it and made it sound like an offer was on the table. Might not necessarily be the case.

Any competent football operation wouldn’t even consider renewing his contract.

Is Jones injured? Honestly didn’t think he was that bad when he played. More so when you consider it was our worst defensive unit in front of him.

Mind boggling to sign a reserve goalkeeper from Hartlepool. If that’s the level of intelligence from our recruitment team, you might as well have signed Weavers next door neighbour.

I might be wrong, Prez, but I believe Copps is head of recruitment.

To be fair to Copps I’m pretty sure we signed him when Graham Younger was in post. It’s about par fir the quality he got us.

Copps and McSheffery can take the blame for not signing a better one in the summer. That said plenty of people backed Mitchell. I’ll admit I was one of them

Give the young lads Bottomley and Oram a game or two, we’ve nothing to lose. The defence and supporters have no confidence in Mitchell at all

I hope the noises about a new deal are just b*llocks to keep him motivated for the rest of the season. Saying that, if this is how he plays motivated then Jesus Christ imagine if he downs tools.

He should be on a building site. Dreadful keeper with no future in the professional game.

At fault for a goal again yesterday with a hapless punch straight to their winger. Just catch the bloody ball.

Absolutely no way we should be anywhere near offering him a  new deal.

He was at fault for both goals.

Except for the fact that he’s a very good shot stopper - which is a fairly basic standard for any worthwhile keeper, I’m not convinced the rest of his skill set is up to professional standard.

Finally signed for Salford City on a permanent deal, 2 years.
