Select your new Manager

I'm nailing my colours on McCann - hopefully a strong poll leaning towards him will seal the deal asap

What a great day this is !

Agreed on McCann, would really like to see him back - I'd be counting down the seconds to the start of the season, but anyone on that list would bring something to the party I think.

well, it seems the tea leaves have been read and with rumour, press articles suggesting his interest and betting odds that GM could be returning to the KM. theres going to be some upset folk, me included if there is some surprise left field candidate appear out of the woodwork.

McCann yes but there must be something in the contract as he can’t leave the team like he did before.
I wouldn’t mind Clarke. Got Port Vale promoted. Seems a respected Manager. Knows the lower leagues well

Grant McCann or Michael Appleton. No one else sets my heart racing ( though neither do my choices) Just think they are th best options available.

The year under McCann was one of the best, most exciting seasons of football I've enjoyed at the Rovers.

I was gutted when he left. I would love to see him return.

However there seems to be quite a few decent managers available at the moment with good track records. I'd be happy with any on the OP's list or several others mentioned on here.

The key is we need an experienced, proven manager to get us out of the mire. Please!

I hope the powers that be recognise this as well. Using up some of the additional player budget next season to ensure we get such a manager would be a very wise investment IMO.

I remember everyone shouting it must be Richie Wellens in the same way they are shouting McCann.
I'm not sure.

If it is Grant McCann I'll be having a wager on him getting us promoted because his style of play, energy and enthusiasm added to significantly improved player budget I don’t really see how we can fail we’ll certainly give Hollywood North Wales branch a run for their money. Bring it on -

I voted Clarke but it's important to note all are an upgrade on Danny. I'd be happy with any of the nominations above (except Chall) and maybe Robbie

I'm just wondering what a fired up McCann could have done with our present squad.

I would bet my house on the fact that he would of got an improved tune out of nearly all the squad,

That should tell us everything we need to know, an experienced manager with a workable definition of what he wants from a squad that would enthuse the players enough to get that extra 20% out of them, when you add in an improved budget then its a no brainer.

Lee Bowyer would be my choice. Has a 41.4 win rate at league one and championship levels. Yes would need to persuading that the club have no intention, of staying in league two, but could see it as a challenge he wants to take.

Another that could be considered, Owen Coyle. Currently manager of Partick Thistle, leading in the first leg of their playoff semi final, with Ayr.
Is it inconceivable that he joins us,after getting them promoted, or joining us because they didn’t make it, if that was the case? Could this fit the appointment within ten days?

The difference is it sounds like this next manager will be given a decent budget.

From the rumours Wellens wasn't.

GM for me with a decent budget. It's going to be a tough league anyway next year.
Quite a few teams with big budgets

Bowyer has a 37.5% win rate over 216 games
McCann has a 40.2% win rate over 348 games

Going off win rates mcCann is a much better choice

Win percentages don't show context. Karl Robinson's is better than John Coleman but I'd easily put the latter above the former.

I agree, but bowyer and mcCann have both managed similar clubs in similar positions so a fair comparison

If it isn’t McCann there will be another melt down on here I suspect.

Depends who we do get i suppose but i for one will be very disappointed if it is not GM.

Think we shouldn’t get our hopes up too much until it becomes confirmed.
There is absolutely no evidence is there to say it will be him.
Only that Cliff Byrne has been at the Eco a few times recently apparently. I haven’t personally seen him.

If an appointment is expected by 19th May it does suggest to me that there are only 2 candidates who have been sounded out and it is a question of waiting for our 1st choice to say YES

That’s how it looks to me anyway. I no nothing though.  ;)
