First 10 mins of Stockport-Salford match...

...reminded me how shite this league is. Misplaced passes and aimless hoys up the pitch. Thud and Blunder.

If we can just get 2-3 athletes with the aggression needed, we ought to piss promotion.

Maybe 4/5 Billy.
But yes get those players in and with a Manager who knows how to set a team up you’re dead right.
There will be completion for top 3 though Billy.
Top 7 seriously should be there for the taking under GM

As will Bradford, Stockport, Salford in particular. One may go up of course.
Expect, MK Dons, Swindon and Carlisle to be fairly strong.
Morecambe, Accrington, Forest Green not sure how strong.  There will be one dark horse no doubt also.

L2 is awful. Imagine watching Man City the other night and playing in L2 and still referring to yourself as a footballer. Certainly nothing to brag about being getting paid a wage to play football in the 4th tier or below. The majority of players are just getting a wage by default really.

Can seem like that sometimes but when you watch Rovers' games from 30 years ago then look at 4th tier now I think there's a big improvement and then you think of the number of kids who spend years in academies and get nowhere near this level, it must be better than it looks. Most teams just cancel each other out half the time, there's only really Man City who stand out ridiculously, maybe the most talented team ever.

Think that’s unfair Gaz Laz
The Premier league is on another level. 4 levels higher.

Our 4th tier is better than most Europeans country’s 2nd tier.  Our 3rd tier is on par with some European 1st tier.
Don’t forget we haven’t seen much football live below the 3rd tier in the last 25 seasons have we.
Only 3 seasons. Let’s hope the 4th season is the last we see for a very very long time.

We have forgotten how far below what we have been used to League 2 actually is in standard

Turning into a good watch this game.
Extra time all County so far.
Money is on them now I think so that guarantees a Salford win  ;)

Definitely, I'd be more than happy with top 7 and some exciting football, would be a massive improvement!

Only someone who weren't very good at football themselves would say something like that. Even just to make it as a league 2 player you have got to have something about you and a good player but to make it to premiership and even more city level you are special.

According to Sky this afternoon, Celtic just cant handle Curtis Main. Hes on a hat-trick.

Should I bump into Alan Warboys, Alan Little, Michael McIndoe, John Doolan, Peter Kitchen and all the others who have stolen a wage by playing at 4th tier or below I will make sure I pass on your informed insight.

I hope you just mean 2/3 athletes and then plus some grit and experience. 2/3 athletes will only see us mid table

It’s much harder to be a pro footballer even at national league level than pretty much any career. Pretty much every child in the country will take up playing football at some point so the competition pool is massive to then be able to make a living out if it is something you should be proud of imo.

While I settle in to my day of meetings, emails and spreadsheets, before paying to go to a gym and play 5 a side, I’m pretty envious that a talented few get to run about on a training pitch looking after themselves and knocking a ball about for a few hours a day.

I probably make more than the average L2 player but I’d swap in a instant and that’s before you talk about the potential for them to earn much more if they do well in football.

talkSPORT comms questioning Mark Hughes’ in-game management. Has also lost 11 points to injury time goals they say. Serves him right for being a bellend in that first game. Bradford fans think they can get promoted on attendances… see you next year!

I don't, Camps. I think Carlisle will win, and it'll be better for us if they do, as Stockport's a much closer away game.

Usually your posts are sensible and make sense but this statement is so unbelievably wrong it’s crazy..
for any footballer to get to a level good enough to play at league 2 is an unbelievable achievement, and you’ve got to be a player with outstanding ability to make it to that level.

They might win SS but I think Stockport are likely to be the stronger of the 2 teams next season imo.
Anyway we have to play who we have to play of course
If we are going to go up we need to go and beat far more teams than we lose to  whoever they are.
