Been at Askern music festival. The headliner Razorlight got cut short due to the lightning apparently.
It was a shambles. You can put it down to teething problems when going bigger with the event. But from the comments online i don’t think people are so forgiving and next year it will be difficult attracting a lot of them back.
I was speaking to Jimmy Mac who ran the acoustic stage and he wasn’t happy at all.He has promised a brutal discussion will take place in the event de-brief.Aside from the obvious shambles of the bars and access the acoustic tent was ruined by the facts that it was clogged up with bar queues meaning the artists were not listened to and people could not get in to see them. The tent was also in the wrong position as you could hear the main stage at all times. It should have been where the fairground was.

No event should have queues of the time there was yesterday. 3 hrs in the bar queue and over an hour to get out the car park which wasn't even that busy. Shame as I thought the sound setup etc and location was pretty good.

It’s tough to get it right and I’d like to think I always did and I certainly never experienced feedback like yesterday. Always available in an advisory capacity

We were back on the bus towards Donny and in the pub in Bentley for 10.15

Can't say fairer than that.
Lack of toilets I understand but phone signal and wifi? Why do peoole need phone and wifi at a music festival?
