Brilliant. I've hated Everton since that FA Cup game in 1985

Excited already!

And Grant has the nous to set up a team to give Everton a run for their money.
He’ll quietly be relishing this.

I’m more concerned about the games we’ve got prior to it!

If Pickford plays, how many England International goalkeepers have either played for or against us at either the Eco or Belle Vue

But this is a free hit Alan.
Nobody will expect us to beat Everton so there’s no pressure.
Hopefully just a chance to enjoy a big game atmosphere at home and you just never know …..

Johnstone, David James, Robert Green are a few off the top of my head. Must be more though.

Edit - Scott Carson must have as well at some point when we were in the Championship?

Might not be right but I think Pickford played against us for Bradford City and Curtis Main scored, as for TV Salford City v Leeds
 might overshadow us.

Ramsdale got Marquis sent off at Wimbledon, but don’t know if he played in our home game

Sky do like a lower league team at home against a prem team though. Plus Leeds are a championship side now

Albert Broadbent hat trick and Alick against a good Millwall side.

Ray Clemence for Scunny circa 66/67. We beat them 3-0.

Opportunity to pack the stadium out and potentially get floaters in after more regularly. Be good to see it at a tenner like we normally do for the cup at home. Sky will pay us another 100k to be on TV too.

Richard Wright Ipswich was beaten by a screamer at Portman Road by Gareth Roberts so he might have been here in our Home game ?

Ray Veall played for us in the early sixties having come through the Intermediates ( now under 18’s level) He was a skilful left winger (and a mate ) . He went on to play for Everton but there is a particularity. He played in a Cup Final but did not qualify for a medal since he had not played enough first-team games in the season . That omission was remedied only a few years ago when Everton tracked him down at his home in New Zealand to grant him the honor of that medal aged 70.A nice gesture Everton .

A mate of mine who's an Everton supporter sent me this....

"I see Donny have been handed a bye to the 3rd round of the Carabao Cup"

Should fill the stadium for this one.  :scarf:

This will be just the ninth time rovers have faced the toffees. The last time being 85 of course . With a record for the toffees of w4 d2 l2.
Got me thinking . Of the current lge clubs, who is the team rovers have played the least. ?
Rovers have played Man Utd 8 times and Liverpool 13 .

I’m thinking it could be Chelsea. Just 2 games . 1958 and 1960. There will only be a very select few rovers fans that bore witness to either of these games . Both at BV too.
