Syd, The "monied classes" you refer to financially support both main parties. They do so because they need to hedge their investment portfolios against significant policy change, so that business as usual continues despite political change. This is why we now have a "duopoly" between the blue/red consensus on economic priorities....protecting the existing balance of economic power.Tory donations are always a factor at election time, but Sunak has jumped the gun by going for an early date. The corruption of the poll has had a slow start as a result.Labour have been busy creating dark money dependencies themselves.https://thedarkarts.substack.com/p/labours-lobbying-problemThese donations will need to be redeemed in favour of supporters after a GE.Among the Labour backers are Israeli interests, who bankrolled Starmer's leadership campaign. (They back the Tories as well).Do you not think that is going to influence Labour policy on foreign affairs?
I assume nothing in regards to those that fail to understand the harsh realities of getting into power against the monied classes that control the yellow press and the majority of the media full stop. Where the monies classes control business and the vast amounts of money they have under their control, etc.
No Syd, that does not follow at all.Read the links before you reply, because it avoids wasting time. The default establishment preference is for a competent Tory government, but as the current option is only an incompetent Tory administration, then the next best choice is a heavily compromised Labour Party, following key Tory economic principles. The art of political deception is maintain the illusion of choice, while making sure that any changes which take place are minimal.Labour have chosen to buy into this organised deception of voters, as you can see by the reluctance to set out meaningful policy changes.By all means vote for it if you wish, your vote is your own.Just be aware of whose interests are being served by those you support.

You're out of your depth here and you know it.Despite being to the left, Albie doesn't need the Guardian to make a political prognosis.
Quite an interesting read this one .............. ''Secretive Tory dining club bags another £50,000 from firm linked to German far-right'' ..................... ''Henning Conle’s London property firm, Strandbrook, has given another £50,000 to the Carlton Club, making a total of £200,000 which the anonymous dining club can funnel through to the Tories. The warm welcome of these donations comes even though Conle has been reported to be the ultimate source behind illegal donations to the tune of €132,000 (£115,000) to Alternative für Deutschland (AfD). The scandal led to AfD paying a fine of over €400,000 to German authorities.AfD stands on an Islamophobic, xenophobic and anti-immigration platform – only last week a German court agreed that the party can be monitored as suspected extremists. The latest donation from Standbrook was made in January 2024, but the Carlton Club only registered it with the Electoral Commission earlier this month'' ................ conthttps://goodlawproject.org/secretive-tory-dining-club-bags-another-50000-from-firm-linked-to-german-far-right/

Quote from: SydneyRover on May 28, 2024, 06:29:09 pmmaybe but Albie spend most of his spare time lecturing only labour, no?Bloody hell, Syd, can't you see why? Labour are supposed to be the representatives of the working class, not friends of big city financiers. We all know how rotten the Tories are. We expect Labour to be better.

Labour investigating Diane Abbott. The investigation concluded 5 months ago but Starmer and fellow MPs stating it was still ongoing to exclude her from running to be an MP again.A bit of a mess really.

I'd prefer not to go off Subject but of course Labour are a government in waiting but it isn't the story lines they needed in the run up to the election.More people voting elsewhere probably won't make a difference but it'll be interesting how many vote for them compare to 2019.
Another interesting individual going to be an MP candidate for Labour https://x.com/RedCollectiveUK/status/1795143309100204168?s=19
