I wonder whether Salford are running a poll on Joe Ironside!

Now, if Joe comes out on top then that would be s sign of things are changing.

Hope Woody leaves his mark on Smith one way or another.

He’s always been one big awkward sod to deal with ! Shorts hung down his backside, looks like he’s shat himself ! Mind you, wish we’d had him !

He's got 3 inches and 4 years on Woody.... could be a fairly good battle.

They are running a Poll on Joe

How many times will he be hauled to the ground , wrestled through 180 degrees or pushed over before he is awarded a free kick

Under 10
Over 10
Under 20
Over 20
He won't win a Free Kick all game

Woody hopefully will have his number. First thing he knows is he’s not going to be smashed for pace by Smith, it’ll be an aerial encounter nothing else.

All depends on who Grant plays alongside Wood. Smith like all clever big strikers will position himself on the weakest central defender.

6 goals in 11 appearances against us, although only 3 in 10 prior to that last one. We’re probably his second favourite opponent but some distance behind Gillingham - 8 goals in 7 games against them!

You and I have very different ideas of what problems are.

It is highly amusing that Wood keeps giving the massive stack of shit a good kicking any time he gets remotely near the ball. Smith now reduced to wingeing at the ref.

Take a bow Tom Anderson! Absolutely rinsed the stack of shite. He barely got a sniff all game. Totally dominated him.

He didn’t get a walkover tonight. The defence stopped him being effective. I’m sure he started the game thinking he would get a couple after last time against us.

We did a job on him, Woods did him a couple of times in the first half, then Tom joined the party, he was f….d at the end of the game, he could barely walk - he knew he’d been in a game.

Mcann wasn’t happy though, he seemed to be saying to Woods he was onside, looked furious.

I'd have taken that result and especially if we had kicked Smith around the park. What a great evening. He literally didn't get a touch the entire game. Remarkable work from Anderson and Wood.

I just want to mention a side of the game not many see or notice - we were in the ref and Lino’s ear all game, both Tom and Woods, but also the keeper at every opportunity, telling him about how Smith was the aggressor.

If you’re going to fail to win, that’s how you do it. Give your all, which every player did tonight. We lacked just a bit more killer instinct and were unlucky at times. The midfield has a bit of energy. Sterry is starting to show why we signed him. Adelakun must be loving playing for us, after being on the sidelines for so long at Lincoln. He is looking really good.

The keeper calm and assured. You can’t get more experienced than Anderson and Wood. Of course pace wise not great but you put pace around them. Happy for Anderson he has had a lot of stick, he did well tonight.

Anderson had Smith in his pocket all game, he squeezed him more than a stress ball.

Really enjoyed watching Big Tom do a job on Smith tonight.

And loved the Rovers fans singing at Smith “Cry in a minute, he’s gonna cry in a minute!”

Classic stuff.

Just a shame we didn’t get the win we deserved.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Anderson is much better alongside an experienced head. I know he’s experienced himself, but he always looked comfortable with Butler alongside him and now, it’s Wood.

The way Salford played was perfect for those two tonight but against a lot of teams in this league we’d be absolutely opened up. Given Olowu was fit it looked like a horses for courses selection which is really encouraging to see.

Smith, typical bully, likes being the bully but doesn’t like being bullied, Anderson did a job on him, Anderson and Wood work well when the CF has no pace

He has scored three goals against us (Anderson) this season. He would have probably taken that before the season started.
