Now I know we don’t score from normal corners that much but when was the last time we ever scored direct from a corner kick?

I recall Beckham scoring one against us at Belle Vue but that’s about it?

I remember playing for my primary school when the opponent scored straight from a corner.  Full sized goals too so plenty to aim at.

Few minutes later they have another corner, the ref (their teacher) says “don’t worry lads, he’ll not do that again”.  But sure enough, corner comes over and is curling into the top corner..  far to high to head but I jump and punch up and tip the ball over the bar.  It’s a fantastic save, problem is I’m not the goalie!  Long before that’s a sending off offence and at least there was a chance of missing the penalty.. they didn’t, we lost 2-4..

Adelakun's was direct from the corner. No short pass. I was screaming at him to play it short to Molyneux because the defenders had backed off into the box.

I really think he meant that today.

The corner was near where we sit in the West Stand and as soon as he hit it I thought “That bugger is going in!”

The guy who sits next to me said “I don’t know if he meant that but it was a hell of a corner!”
I replied “I reckon he meant it”.

Adelakun hits the corner hard with the inside of his foot, gets perfect bend on it, aimed high towards the goal.
It goes in the far top corner.
Of course he meant it!

Looked like it was planned everyone crowded the near post pinning the keeper and then he swung it over them into the far end. It’s not that hard to whip a corner directly on target but normally you’d expect the keeper to deal with them

Yes, Petche, and it was deemed an o.g.

On that basis, it can't be compared to Haks's goal today.

Ha, nice one, don’t worry mate they can’t disallow the goal now.
Funny too that a big fuss was made when their player wanted to do that too in the second half.

yes i remember that around that time we had a "bent" goalkeeper on loan did the same thing in the Saunders era

Two things.  I don't see how he can mean it, if he tried it 100 times, I doubt that he would be able to do that.  Secondly, when he took the corner, the ball was outside of the corner arc and probably shouldn't have counted... although no complaints from me..

Corner was from SE corner of Ground. BFG was in goal and Ben Sheaf ( edit corrected to Connor Grant)  I think was on goal line between near post and corner flag

Their bloke miskicked it and it rolled most of way . Don't know if Connor G got a call but he left it and it went in at near post

No shots on target in entire game as the corner didn't count ( as a shot on target that is )

Was the ball inside or outside the quadrant graingrover?

Nearly all corners are taken outside the quadrant.
There always seems to be day light between the line and ball.
