Game won, but the tempo, the confidence, the belief in going forward and taking risks to make things happen in the final third were distinctly lacking as they have been all tournament.

There isn't or shouldn't be anybody coming out of that game with any credit least of all Southgate .

We simply got away with one , we were absolutely dreadful and on any other night we'd have gone out .

However sometimes games like this are the turning point , we wouldn't be the first nation to cough , splutter and somehow get it done and then go on to win the bloody thing .

We aren't generally that kind of nation that does it this way , just not in our mentality like you see Argentina or Italy do it .

Lets not white wash this performance it was shocking, we won because we have world class players who can score from nothing, they parked the bus second half and we struggled to break them down, after we scored the second we parked the bus and they nearly scored, formation, tactics in game management Gareth has no idea.
